Description
Multistage centrifugal pumps and surface mounted electric pumps , designed for clean fluid transfer, differ from single stage centrifugal pumps as they have two or more impellers, as opposed to the one impeller. There are different versions of multistage pump available with the impellers installed either in series on the same shaft for higher pressure applications, or in parallel on opposite shafts for installations where higher flow rates are required. Side channel pumps are also usually multistage in design to allow them to reach their pressure capabilities.
